Lena Rascoe Jones, 77, of the 1800 block of Peartree Road, died at Albemarle Hospital on Sunday. Born in North Carolina she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late George and Mary Daniels Rascoe and the widow of Robert Lee Jones Sr.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Vanessa L. Hewitt and Delores J. Vaughn, both of Elizabeth City; three sons, Thyron B. Hopkins, Robert L. Jones Jr. and James Phillip Jones III all of Elizabeth City, N.C.; three sisters, Nora Jefferson of Elizabeth City, Annie Mae Brickhouse of Columbia, N.C., and Carolyn Edwards of Vanceboro, N.C.; three brothers, Billy G. Rasco of Hertford, N.C., Andrew Rasco of Washington, N.C., and Leon T. Pratt of Chesapeake; 10 grnadchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at Twiford's Memorial Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Graveside services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Burkett officiating. The family will be at the residence at 1809 Peartree Road, Elizabeth City.
