MARIE A. RICKS

Marie Artis Ricks of 1213 Virginia St. died Sunday, Feb. 25, 1996, in Southside Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Southampton County, Va., and was retired from the Franklin School System, Food Service Personnel Department. She was a member of Pleasant Shade Baptist Church, Franklin, the Green Light Club, and the Hospitality Committee.

She is survived by three daughters, Gwendolyn Ricks-Haskett, Trina Yvonne Barker of Petersburg, Va., Myral ``T Baby'' Barnes of Franklin; three sons, William J. Ricks, James M. Ricks of Franklin, Michael Ricks of Petersburg; two sisters, Morse Lee Ricks of Suffolk, Glossie Sebrell of Courtland; two brothers, Herman Artis of Franklin, Alverce Artis of Newport News; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pleasant Shade Baptist Church by the Rev. T.L. Parker. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. The remains will be placed in church at noon . Wm. and M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
