Tony P. Clark Sr., 70, of the 700 block of Bold St., died Feb. 25, 1996, in Virginia Medical Center, Hampton.
He was a retired plumber of Osborne Plumbing and a native of Jackson, N.C. He was a member of New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, and the Washington Masonic Lodge (NU)23. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Beaulah Clark; four sisters, Beatrice Reid of Halifax, N.C., Gladys Ramsey of Hillside, N.J., Clarine Jenkins of Halifax, N.C., Maxine Spells of Irvington, N.J.; three brothers, Frank Brown of Seaboard, N.C., Russell Ramsey of Newark, N.J., Mark Brown of Newark, N.J.; three grandchildren, Antoin, Erica and Asia; two adopted grandchildren, Charmaine, Shanice; adopted daughter, Belinda Deberry of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Tony P. Clark Jr.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday by Dr. T.M. Steele in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville. Burial will be in Woodlanw Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Serenity Funeral Home. There will be another viewing from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 733 Bold St., Portsmouth, at 11:15 a.m. Thursday for the procession to the church.
