Howard Ray Forbes, 69, of the 900 block of Sunnyside Drive, died Feb. 26, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was retired from the Naval Air Station and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Scott Forbes; two daughters, Karen F. Padgett and her husband, Michael of Virginia Beach, Deborah Forbes Bailey and her husband, Barry of Virginia Beach; two sons, Daniel Forbes of Chesapeake, Howard R. Forbes III and his wife, Valarie of Chesapeake; two sisters, Virgie F. Boyce and Shirley F. Brooks, both of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Chirstie Padgett, Jennifer Padgett, Lori Padgett, Corey Bailey and Kara Forbes.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. James A. Meads in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at their residence at Sunnyside Drive.
