Four vehicles, including a state trooper's car, were shot at Monday night near the Victory Boulevard exit of Interstate 264. No one was injured.
Two men in their mid-20s were arrested by Portsmouth police after they were found in a wooded area near I-264 by K-9 units just after 10 p.m.
Charges against the men and their identities were not released Monday. Police also recovered a BB gun in the woods.
Tammy Van Dame, spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police, said that three citizens complained to authorities just before 9:30 p.m. that their cars had been hit with bullets or rocks near the Victory Boulevard exit on I-264.
When a state trooper investigated, Van Dame said, his rear window was shot out as he attempted to turn from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes of I-264.
The trooper then contacted Portsmouth police, who sent the K-9 units to the scene. by CNB
