Benjamin Gurney Spivey, 54, of the 4000 block of King St., died Feb. 25, 1996, in his residence.
He was a native of Norfolk and a carpenter.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Stancil Spivey of Chesterfield County, Va.; four children; a brother, Burley Spivey of Moseley, Va.; three grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the sender's choice.
