Gertrude J. Winfield, of the 6500 block of Wailes Ave., died Feb. 25, 1996.
Mrs. Winfield, the widow of Jesse T. Winfield Sr., was a native of Princess Anne County. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, and was involved in the deaconess board.
Survivors include a son, Jesse T. Winfield Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Lillian J. Williams and Mable J. Robinson, both of Virginia Beach, and Bernice J. Moore of Norfolk; four brothers, Milton Johns of Roanoke, , and Robert Johns, Simuel Johns and William Johns, all of Virginia Beach; a grandson, Jesse T. Winfield III of Virginia Beach; two great-granddaughters, Kelly and Kindel Winfield, both of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 875 Baker Road. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
