Gertrude Cline Ainslie, 95, of Westminster-Canterbury, died Feb. 26, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mrs. Ainslie was born in Rockland, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late George P. and Viola Finch Cline. She was the widow of James Walter Ainslie.
Mrs. Ainslie was a graduate of Oneonta State Teachers College in Oneonta, N.Y., and retired after more than thirty-two years of teaching. She had taught in the Newport News School System as well as the Roscoe School System in Roscoe, N.Y., and the Huntington School System on Long Island, N.Y.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan A. King of Norfolk; her two sons, John W. ``Jack'' Ainslie, of Norfolk, James W. Ainslie and his wife, Peggy A. Ainslie of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; her seven grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Ainslie and his wife, Cynthia M. Ainslie, John W. Ainslie Jr., Susan C. Ainslie, David A. King, J. Lisa Poulter, James W. Ainslie and his wife, Linda M. Ainslie, and Alison A. Saffon; and her seven great-grandchildren, Michelle Rene Ainslie, Rene Christine Fournier, Tyler DeAtley, Justin A. King, Stephen S. Saffon, Brittany A. Ainslie and Morgan A. Ainslie.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted in Riverside Cemetery, Roscoe, N.Y. at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. Oman Funeral Home, Chesapeake is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
