JOHN T. BILLUPS

John Thomas Billups, of the 1300 block of Mill Lake Quarter, died Feb. 26, 1996, in Lake Taylor Hospital.

Mr. Billups was retired from Navy Public Work Center Civil Service. He was a native of Norfolk and a Baptist. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Billups; two daughters, Regina Billups Mitchell of Chesapeake, Ingrid Billups Payne of Fort Bragg, N.C.; two sisters, Ida Mae Turner and Helen Mae Jackson, both of Norfolk; four brothers, Theodore, Reginald, Edward, Charlie Billups, all of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Carlos A. Howard Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Shelton H. Smith. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing Thursday at 3 p.m. The family will assemble at 1332 Mill Lake Quarter at 11 a.m. for the procession.
