EXPAND SCHOOL USE

What a thrill to open The Virginian-Pilot and read there are those who envision the possibilities of opening the city schools for full day and evening use for the entire population for their continuing education, and the use of their facilities for recreation and physical growth.

About five years ago, my husband and I, senior citizens, decided to take a course in political history at Granby High's night school. Eleven signed up.

Our teacher was a high-school teacher from another school. He filled the sessions with his enthusiasm and knowledge. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my school years.

More power to these visionaries, and more political acumen to our city's politicians, the movers and the shakers of Norfolk.
