Alton D. Haywood, 59, died Feb. 28, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Haywood, a painter for Gurloff and Sons, was a native of Portsmouth.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Haywood; three sons, Christopher A. Haywood and Jerry Haywood, both of Chesapeake, Dwayne Haywood of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mildred Brinkley of Chesapeake, Evelyn Hines and Shirley Shephard, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Maurice Haywood of Florida; and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The family will be at the home of Steve and Deborah Manuel, 3525 Heutte Drive, Norfolk.
