Everett E. ``Gene'' Via Jr., 42, died Feb. 28, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Via, a Baptist, was a native of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Diane C. Via; a daughter, Stacy Mead of Virginia Beach; a son, William Rogers of Godwin, N.C.; his parents, June M. Via and Everett E. Via Sr., both of Chesapeake; a sister, Terri Jarrell of Chesapeake; a brother, Michael Via of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Casey Rogers and Christopher Mead, both of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters, Stephine Mead of Virginia Beach and Carrie Summer Rogers of Godwin, N.C.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
