Arthur Lindsey Spencer, 73, of the 900 block of Old Homestead Land, died Feb. 29, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.
He was a master rigger for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a native of Chesapeake and a member of Avalon Church of Christ, Virginia Beach. He was a member of Kempsville Masonic Lodge on Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Mr. Spencer was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle C. Spencer; grandchildren, Scott Crumley of Virginia Beach, Joseph Spencer of Brandon, Fla., Christopher Spencer of Brandon; and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Lindsey Leigh Spencer.
A funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today by the Rev. Jimmy Bennett in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. Burial will be private. There will be a reception following the services at the funeral home.
