M. GRAVES POWELL

Madison Graves Powell, 75, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, died Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996, at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Boykins Baptist Church. He was the son of Philmore Madison and Anna Neblett Powell.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Mann Powell and a cousin, Walter Franklin Drake of Sunbeam.

A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins, by the Rev. Benjamin Thomas. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Memorial donations can be made to the Boykins Baptist Church or to the Boykins Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.
