STATE POLICE SAVING LIVES

Regarding the letter from Robert C. Fort (``State police should set better example,'' Feb. 15.) concerning the state police and their handling of accidents along I-264: It's hard to imagine that anyone would object to the police trying to keep citizens safe and warning them of an accident ahead. The accident might have included Mr. Fort's own vehicle had he not slowed down. So what if there were four or five troopers on the scene? What is important is that no more vehicles were involved and no one lost his life because somebody was in a hurry to get around the accident.

I know and work with several state troopers, and my hat goes off to them! Mr. Fort would be hard-pressed to find a more professional and dedicated group of people.
