Serena E. Shipe, 68, died Saturday, March 2, 1996, in Riddle Memorial Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, Va., she was a resident of Delaware County for 30 years. She spent the last 20 years in Media. She was co-owner of a former bookstore on East State Street in Media. Mrs. Shipe was the beloved wife of the late Robert Shipe who died in 1987.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl S. Lawrence of Ossinging, N.Y., Serena M. Moyer of Portage, Mich., Debbie Johnson of Concord, N.C; son, Leonard A. Shelb Jr. of Kalamazoo, Mich.; one sister, Marie Authement of Chesapeake, Va.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, Baltimore Ave. and Jackson St., Media, Pa. Interment is private. Friends may call Monday 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Trinity Hospice, 150 Ninth Ave., P.O. Box 250, Runnemede, N.J. 08078, would be appreciated.
