An elderly man who had been missing since Wednesday was found dead by a passerby Saturday morning.
Police said it appeared that Zephaniah Pugh, 76, of the 700 block Old Point Ave., died of natural causes. His bike was found nearby.
Pugh was last seen when he set out on his bicycle to run an errand to a store. Police and friends had searched for him since he failed to return home.
A team that was continuing its search Saturday morning was to have moved next into the area where Pugh's body was found, police spokesman Donnie Moore said. But, about 11:15 a.m., a man walking his dog spotted the body in a wooded area about 30 feet east of the first block of State Park Drive. by CNB
