Do you really think anyone cares that the state has made it more difficult for the newspaper to interview murderers and rapists behind bars? Truth be told, most decent Virginians are sick of hearing about and from convicts. We are thrilled the state is silencing them.
Your editorial takes the tired, arrogant position that democracy won't survive without you serving as its watchdog and that you ``can't do that in the area of corrections if reporters are locked out of the penitentiaries.''
I'd be happy to see that access problem rectified. Virginia and the nation would be better served by you ``media watchdogs'' if you all were locked in the penitentiaries!
