Mona G. Dowdy, 83, of the 400 block of Oaklette Drive, a retired beautician, died March 2, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mrs. Dowdy was born in Wilkes County, N.C., and was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. She retired as owner and operator of Carol's Beauty Salon.
Survivors include her husband, A. Lewis Dowdy; three sisters, Agnes Wyatt, Dacey Haynes and Rosa Haynes, all of North Wilkesboro, N.C.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Joseph Carson III. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
