RUSSELL H. JERNIGAN

Russell H. Jernigan, 79, of Winter Haven and formerly of Virginia Beach, died Saturday, March 2, 1996, in Winter Haven Hospital.

Mr. Jernigan was retired from civil service as a master mechanic after 30 years. He was a member of Ruth Masonic Lodge (NU)89, Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris C. Jernigan.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Gunderson Jernigan; two daughters, Patricia J. Shepard of Virginia Beach and Cindy J. Fletcher of Chesapeake; a sister, Mildred E. Sadler, and a brother, C.W. Jernigan, both of Virginia Beach; four granddaughters, Sharon K. Mathews of Virginia Beach, and Marley, Torey and Kalley Fletcher, all of Chesapeake; one grandson, Cody Fletcher of Chesapeake; and one great-grandson, Zachary Park.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be accorded at the graveside.
