James Lamont ``Mont'' Johnson, 27, of the 4800 block of Pretty Lake Ave., died Feb. 29, 1996, in Spartanburg, S.C.
Mr. Johnson was born in Norfolk and was an ironworker with Southern Steel Erectors. He was a member of St. Luke Holy Church of Jesus Disciples in Norfolk.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Taura Gilliam; a son, Christopher James Reed; a stepson, Archie G. Gilliam; a sister, Lillian A. Johnson; and three brothers, Albert T. Johnson, Emanuel L. Johnson and Aundre Johnson, all of Norfolk; two aunts, Margaret Threat and Sarah Glass; two uncles, Samuel Threat Sr. and Samuel Threat Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn Johnson, Arlette Johnson; special friend, Sarah Gilliam; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Ella P. Vaughn and father, James A. Forts.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Macedonia Holiness Church, 7518 Merritt St., by Bishop Lawrence E. Eley. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at 11:15 a.m. at 868 Lasser Drive for the procession to the church. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
