JAMES L. MARSHALL

James Lyhue Marshall, 90, died Tuesday, March 5, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mr. Marshall was born in the Berkley section of Norfolk and was the son of the late James William and Margaret Ann Pritchard Marshall. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret M. Peach and two brothers, William Amos Marshall and Walter T. Marshall. He was retired in 1971 after 43 years of service with Swift and Co. He was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Courtney Abbott Marshall; his daughter, Janice M. Johnson and her husband, William, of Virginia Beach; his son, James L. Marshall Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Suffolk; two sisters, Sarah M. King of Newport News and Lilyan M. Fletcher of Springfield, Va.; one brother, Robert S. Marshall of Chesapeake; and four grandchildren, Timothy J. Marshall, Margaret C. Johnson, Mary E. Johnson, and Stephen R. Johnson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 1996, in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge by the Rev. Charles Moseley. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
