John Frank Bein
NORFOLK - John Frank Bein, 66, of the 9600 block of Chesapeake Blvd., passed away peacefully on March 2, 1996, at home with his wife and family at his side.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and was employed by Sears for 25 years. Mr. Bein was a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church. He was a native of Philadelphia.
He is survived by his wife, Grace A. Bein; two daughters, Martha Jean Furber of Chicago, Ill., and Bridget Batchelor of Virginia Beach; seven sons, Donald Bein of Portsmouth, William Ahmann and Paul Bein, both of Zuni, Robert Bein and John Bein Jr., both of Norfolk, Kelly Bein of Virginia Beach, Ismael Ruiz of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Nancy Timpler of Mesa, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be today at 7 p.m., by the Rev. Warren Wilson at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today following the service until 9 p.m. The family requests contributions be sent to Shriners Burn Hospital, c/o Khedive Temple, 645 Woodlawn Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
