Ralph Warren Oliver Sr., 77, of 19077 Oliver Drive, died March 5, 1996, in his home.
He was a retired farmer and a native of Isle of Wight County, Va. He was the widower of Mary Martha Bowden Oliver and a member of Whitehead's Grove Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class and was a former head usher. He was the son of the late Jermiah and Emma Lou Babb Oliver.
He is survived by three daughters, Martha Lou Oliver, Linda O. Whitley, and Judy O. Edwards, all of Smithfield; a son, Ralph W. Oliver Jr. of Smithfield; two sisters, Lottie O. Horne of Suffolk and Ethel O. Sizemore of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Benny Frank Oliver Sr. of Suffolk; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Russell O. Leonard in Whitehead's Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family in the Hill Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
