DONATIONS SOUGHT

An Oklahoma group is conducting a wide-ranging appeal to help return rescue workers to Oklahoma City for the first anniversary of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building April 19.

A 57-member search and rescue team was sent from Hampton Roads to search the rubble. Members of the team were from Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport News, the state Department of Emergency Services, Norfolk Naval Base and Little Creek Amphibious Base. Several specialists not attached to any governmental body also made the trip.

The Disaster Hospitality Team of Norman, Okla., is hoping for donations of $5 from 100,000 people to pay the expenses of rescue workers from various parts of the country who wish to return to Oklahoma. Larger donations can be made.

These tax-deductible donations can be sent to the Disaster Hospitality Care Team c/o Boatman's Bank, 1239 W. Main St., Norman, Okla. 73069.

A cover letter should indicate whether donations go to a particular individual or to a specific team. The Hampton Roads group is the Urban Search and Rescue Virginia Task Force Team 2. by CNB
