SUFFOLK CRIME REPORT

DISTRICT A

Lost/stolen, 4800 block Afton Court and 6800 Holy Neck Road, Feb. 26, Suffolk city decals were removed from vehicles.

Breaking and entering, 4300 block Hardy Drive, Feb. 27, someone returned home to find a young adult male in his utility room. The intruder had a hammer and chisel in his hands, and pry marks were found on the door frame. The resident allowed the youth to leave, then called police and advised that $130 in food stamps had been removed from a closet.

DISTRICT C

Petty larceny, 1200 block North Main St., Feb. 20, someone entered a van and removed a Mobil Net phone and adapter valued at $195.

Burglary, 1100 block North Main St., Feb. 20, police officers responded to an alarm at a business. The proprietors discovered that a rear, second-story window had been forced open and tile removed from a storage room ceiling, but nothing was missing.

Breaking and entering, 400 block Market St., Feb. 20, someone attempted to enter a business by removing screens and trying to pry open the windows. Other screens were cut and tampered with.

Stolen firearms, 300 block North Main St., Feb. 20, someone removed an Intratec 9mm semi-automatic black steel handgun from a black gym bag.

Breaking and entering, 200 block Eley Court, Feb. 22, a woman reports that someone entered her home by kicking open her kitchen door. Two silver chains were removed, one with a Mount Rushmore 50-cent piece attached. A 1976 white gold class ring with the initials ``RBS'' engraved inside was also removed.

Breaking and entering, 400 block Wellons St., Feb. 27, when a man heard a noise outside his front door, he discovered an acquaintance attempting to break in. The burglar rushed and forced the door, damaging the doorknob, lock and molding. He struck the occupant and fled.

Hit and run, 1200 block North Main St., Feb. 28, a vehicle struck a burgundy, 4-door '88 Ford Taurus and left the scene.

DISTRICT D

Assault and battery, 200 block North 4th St., someone reports that he was punched in the kidneys. He had just been released from the hospital for kidney stones and was taken back to the hospital.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Kingsboro St., Feb. 20, upon returning to her residence, a woman discovered the front door was unlocked. A set of pictures had been removed and jewelry disturbed.

Grand larceny, 1100 block Nansemond Parkway, Feb. 21, someone removed a yellow, 1983 Suzuki dirt bike. The bike had been chained to a tree, but the chain was cut.

Hit and run, 100 block South Capitol St., Feb. 21, someone driving a gray, 4-door Chevy Nova pulled into a residence driveway and started to back up when it hit the fence causing $200 in damage. The vehicle then left the scene without stopping.

Strong-arm robbery, 200 block of North 6th St., Feb. 21, someone was approached by a man asking to change a $10 bill. He pulled out his wallet and tried to accommodate the request, but the thief grabbed his wallet and ran. The victim gave chase but was struck several times by the thief and other accomplices.

Lost/stolen, 200 block Pinner St., Feb. 21, a Virginia state handicapped tag was removed from a vehicle.

Lost/stolen, 100 block South 10th St. and 200 block North Division St., Feb. 22, Suffolk city decals were reported missing from vehicles.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Hall Ave., Feb. 26, someone entered a business through the roof and removed four boxes of cashews valued at $80 per case.

Larceny, 100 block County St., Feb. 27, someone removed a Lorcin L-9 9mm gun from a dresser drawer.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Hall Ave., Feb. 27, someone entered a business by prying open a hole in the roof and removing five boxes of cashews valued at $500.

Petty larceny, 100 block South Main St., Feb. 28, someone reports his city decal was removed from his vehicle.

DISTRICT E

Lost/stolen, 8000 block Stuart Drive, Feb. 23, someone lost the stickers she received for a pickup truck and boat trailer.

Breaking and entering, 6900 block Holy Neck Road, Feb. 28, when a woman returned from out of town, she noticed that tape over a cracked window on her door appeared to have been tampered with. The following items were missing: Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation games, VCR with remote, television, microwave, herringbone necklace, videotapes and CDs. by CNB
