During the weekend of Feb. 9, thieves entered a number of containers at Suffolk Mini Storage, in the 2000 block of Holland Road.
After cutting off locks, they removed a large quantity of items, some rare and antique. Among the items were a cherry wood desk and Windsor chair, a number of silver pieces, cut glass, a brass railroad lamp, assorted electrical and hand tools and two handguns and two shotguns.
On Feb. 15, thieves removed two large flower pots from Cedar Hill Cemetery, off Constance Road. The pots are cast iron but appear to be copper. They weigh about 200 pounds each.
A number of larcenies of copper, from homes and construction sites, have occurred recently near the same area.
Thieves entered the Fairmont Snacks building in the 100 block of Hall Ave. by prying a hole in the roof and removed cashew nuts valued at more than $1,000. Investigators believe the burglaries may have been committed by someone familiar with the inside of the building.
