In response to the many people who have written praising the postal system, one recently saying how great it is that a letter would get to California in three days:
On Feb. 12 (by the postmark), a dear friend mailed me a lovely Valentine. On Feb. 26 I received it - with approximately two miles distance between us, in the same city.
Where was it for two weeks?
Maybe if I lived in California I would have received it sooner.
