Leroy Biddle, 87, of the 900 block of Oaklawn Ave., died Tuesday March 5, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Biddle was a native of Powells Point, N.C. He was retired from the Naval Supply Center after 40 years of service. He was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church for more than 60 years, a former chairman of the Deacons Board and later became deacon emeritus.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Biddle of Norfolk; a foster daughter, Jacqueline Chapman of Chesapeake; his grandsons, Randolph Biddle Jr. of Hillside, N.J., Rudolph Biddle of California; two nieces, Earline B. Freeman of Norfolk and Ruth B. Green of Baltimore, Md.; two great-nieces, Sharon Dorsett-Edmonds of the home and Brenda Freeman of Richmond; two nephews, James Biddle and Stephen Biddle of Baltimore; two great-nephews, Ronald Freeman of White Plains, N.Y., and Jonathan Green of Atlanta; a nephew-in-law, Garland Edmonds of Norfolk; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Ruth Biddle of Baltimore and Jessie Brehon of Norfolk; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mr. Biddle was predeceased by his wife, Gussie Binns Biddle; a son; three sisters; and three brothers.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Second Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the residence, 917 Oaklawn Ave. Graves Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
