Earl Dowd Beavers, 80, of the 3200 block of Taylor Road, died March 6, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Beavers, a native of Durham, N.C., was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a electrician and retired from Tidewater Community College as an electrical foreman.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva S. Beavers; a daughter, Felcie B. Cowart of Chesapeake; a brother, James A. Beavers of Dodge City, Kan.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Elisha E. Jones. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
