BEACH POLICE HUNT MAN WHO HELD UP FIRST UNION BANK

Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing the First Union National Bank of Virginia at Virginia Beach Boulevard and Little Neck Road Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to the bank about 12:40 p.m., according to police spokesman Lou Thurston. They learned that a man had given a teller a note demanding money. He did not display a weapon.

Thurston said the man was given an undisclosed amount of cash before he left on foot.

The suspect was described as white, in his early 20s, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, and 150 to 160 pounds. He has short, light brown hair and a well-trimmed mustache. The man was wearing a black Colorado Rockies baseball cap, a long-sleeved brown, blue, red and white flannel shirt, black jeans and black high-top tennis shoes.
