Circuit City Stores Inc. said Wednesday its February sales in stores open for more than a year rose 3 percent over February 1995. The consumer electronics retailer said total sales during February increased 21 percent to $533.5 million from $439.2 million a year ago. Circuit City said its comparable-store sales for the fourth quarter ended Feb. 29 were unchanged from the year-earlier quarter. Total sales for the quarter increased 18 percent from last year to $2.25 billion, according to a company spokeswoman. (Dow Jones News) Richmond gets another low-fare airline
After vying for low-fare airline service for more than a year, Richmond International Airport has secured its second low-fare carrier in a week. Eastwind Airlines, based in Trenton, N.J., said it will begin jet service April 16, with nonstop flights to Greensboro and Trenton, N.J., and connecting or one-stop flights to Boston and Providence, R.I. Introductory fares will range from $29 to $89 each way to Greensboro, $79 to $139 to Boston and Providence, and $49 to $109 to Trenton. The airline will offer two flights each weekday to each city, and one on Saturdays and Sundays. (AP) Clarification
