Roger Albertus Lutz Jr., 70, died Tuesday, March, 5, 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Amos Lutz; mother, Eleanor Steadman Lutz of South Boston; three sons, Harry Duncan Lutz of Boydton, Frank Gardiner Lutz of Suffolk, and David Howard Lutz of Danville; daughter, Mary Grace Lutz Cox of Virgilina; sister, Barbara Lutz Wooten of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Lutz was a graduate of South Kent Prep School in South Kent, Conn., The University of Virginia, and Virginia Commonwealth University. He was a former teacher at Southside Virginia Community College, Longwood College and Old Dominion University. He was employed as a chemist for B & B Consultants. He was a member of the Unitarian Church in Norfolk, and attended Main Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Lutz was also a member of the American Chemical Society, the Association for Retarded Citizens, serving as regional vice president and former board of directors member, an executive of the Boy Scouts, and a member of American Legion Post 8.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Main Street United Methodist Church in South Boston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.
