LON D. BALL SR.

Lon D. Ball Sr., 82, died Feb. 20, 1996.

He was a former resident of Chesapeake, Va. and owner of Ball's Shoe Repair at Great Bridge. He was also a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Helton Ball; three daughters, Moselle Buford Toomsuba, Ms. Betty Turk of Poulsbo, Wash., and Lois Evancho of Chesapeake; three sons, Lon Ball Jr. of Wetumpka, Ala., E. Graham Ball of Chesapeake and Charles Ball of Fayeteville, N.C.; three sisters, Lucille Terry and Irene Ashbrook of Chesapeake, and Shirley Bergeron of North Carolina; six brothers, Eugene and Boyd Ball of California, Thomas Ball of Florida, Ira Ball of North Carolina, H. Wayne Ball of Virginia Beach, and Cecil Ball of Nebraska; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were held Feb. 22 at Pine View Memorial Gardens, Wetumpka, with the Rev. Royce Browder officiating.
