HENRY K. EDQUIST SR.

Henry Karl Edquist Sr., died Feb. 28, 1996, at the Village Nursing Home in Fork Union.

He was born April 4, 1926, in New York, the son of the late John Knut and Martha Dotterud Edquist. Mr. Edquist was a member of Palmyra Methodist Church and was a self-employed building contractor. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the 702nd Tank Battalion of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth B. Edquist; son, Henry K. Edquist Jr. of Alexandria; two daughters, Diane Dorman of Burtonsville, Md., and Linda E. Adams of Arlington; brother, Roy Edquist of New York; sister, Betty Khatiblou of New York; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Palmyra United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Finn McKenzie will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Monticello Beautification Corp. or the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 306, Palmyra, Va. 22963. Sheridan Funeral Home of Kent's Store is in charge of the arrangements.
