Milton M. Morris
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Milton Melvin Morris, of 2439 N. East Loop 410, died Monday, March 4, 1996, at his residence.
He was a native of Norfolk and had resided in Salisbury, Md., for a number of years before moving to San Antonio. He was reared in Salisbury, Md., where he received Christ at an early age and attended First Baptist Church of Salisbury, Md. He sang with a number of Gospel Groups in Maryland.
He is survived by a daughter, Ms. Joy Morris of Beltsville, Md.; four sons, Milton Morris Jr. of Berkley, Calif., Gregory E. Morris, Mitchell Morris and Carlton Morris, all of Salisbury, Md.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild, all of Salisbury; brother, Herman Fentress Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Mrs. Harriett Fentress of Baltimore, Md.; uncle, Claudis Hollie of Virginia Beach; his former wife, Mrs. Mammie Morris of Salisbury; stepdaughter, Mrs. Linda Duggins-Taylor of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews, among them, Mrs. Barbara M. Dixon of Norfolk, Mrs. Betty Toliver of Portsmouth and Ms. Phyllis Fentress of Bronx, N.Y.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday, March 9, 1996, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, Norfolk, with Pastor Lloyd B. Allen officiating. Interment will be in Betty Jones Cemetery, Norfolk. The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 12:45 p.m. until the hour of service. Relatives and friends are asked to assemble at the residence of Mrs. Barbara Dixon, 819 Hagan Ave., Norfolk, at 1 p.m. The family may be contacted at the residence of Mrs. Barbara Dixon. The remains rest at Tucker's Funeral Home, Petersburg.
