A 15-year-old suddenly shot his teenage companion Thursday night as the two male youths walked along College Park Boulevard, police said.
The two boys are both students at Tallwood High School. Their identities were not released Thursday night.
Mike Carey, spokesman for the Virginia Beach Police Department, said the shooting occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. behind a row of townhouses near the intersection of College Park Boulevard and Dillard Place. The two boys knew each other from school and apparently were peacefully walking down the street together moments before the shooting occurred.
Carey said the victim was shot multiple times and was listed in stable condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He said police have not identified a motive for the shooting.
