Regarding editorial writer Kerry Dougherty's March 2 column (Perspectives) concerning required reading for young students, specifically a parental objection to Flowers For Algernon: I am grateful for such a well-expressed opinion.
Book censorship is wrong. I agree that the York County School Board is to be commended for rejecting an objection to such a well-done and sensitive book. I am a firm believer in just such exposure to books for young people.
