ALBERT L. HARTLEY

Albert L. ``Al'' Hartley, 73, of the 1300 block of River Oaks Drive, died March 7, 1996, at his residence.

Mr. Hartley, a native of Norfolk, retired from the U.S. Navy in 1963 as a chief petty officer after 23 years of service. He was also retired from the Norfolk Naval Base as a steam plant foreman. He attended Azalea Garden Church of God. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)60 and a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Emilou Hartley; a daughter, Cynthia L. Hartley of Norfolk; five sons, James Hartley of Port St. Lucie, Fla., John Hartley of Memphis, Tenn., Al Hartley of Chesapeake, Tom Hartley of Sebring, Fla., R.C. Hartley of Virginia Beach; a sister, Grace Collins of Norfolk; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Rosewood Memorial Park by Pastor Aubrey D. Maye. The family will receive friends at the residence, 1301 River Oaks Drive, Norfolk, today from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to The Azalea Garden Church of God, Care Ministry, Beamon Road and Azalea Garden Road, Norfolk, 23502. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
