SUFFOLK HOOPS: Suffolk Parks will hold its 38th annual Suffolk Invitational Tournament March 11-29 at Birdsong Recreation Center. The tournament is limited to 10 teams and will have a double emlimination bracket. Cost is $150 per team. Admission is $1.50 for adults and 75 cents for students with proper ID. GOLF TOURNEY: The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Arthur E. Jones Jr. golf tournament will be held April 12 at Suffolk Golf Course with $10,000 in prizes up for grabs. The Florida Best Ball tournament, which provides funds for the N-SA sports program, costs $500 per team, or $125 per single player and includes lunch, complimentary drinks and free putting and use of the driving range. There will also be a contest for the longest drive and a special putting contest.

Cocktails and an awards ceremony will follow the tournament. Entry deadline is March 27. For more information, call Mark Lambert at 539-6298.

CYPRESS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION: The Cypress Athletic Association is collecting aluminum cans for its recycling project to raise the funds needed to purchase its ballfield. Anyone interested in helping can drop off empty cans at the field any Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
