U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Jeremiah Lentz, 76, of the 8000 block of Wedgewood Drive, died March 9, 1996, at a Norfolk hospital.
Chief Petty Officer Lentz was retired from the Navy, Civil Service, and the Naval Air Rework Facility. He was a native of Salisbury, N.C., and a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)60, and American Legion Post 323.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle L. Lentz; a daughter, Julia Plante of Virginia Beach; a son, Monroe C. Lentz of Norfolk; three brothers, James Lentz of Salisbury, N.C., Cullen Lentz and Floyd Lentz, both of Salisbury; and a granddaughter, Jessica A. Plante of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church by the Rev. Sidney K. Nelson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A Fleet Reserve service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, after which the family will greet friends until 8 p.m.
