George Frederick Swanson, 67, of the 300 block of Hanbury Ave., died March 10, 1996, in a hospital.
Mr. Swanson, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., was a retired computer operator from NARDAC at the Naval Air Station, Norfolk. He was a member of Collinswood Baptist Church, Loyal Order of the Moose 898, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie ``Jackie'' Swanson; a daughter, Barbara Bentley of Virginia Beach; two sons, Charles Draper of Lexington, Ky., Ken Raper of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral with Moose rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, and other times at the home. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Swanson's name to the American Cancer Society.
