JAMES L. BROWN

James L. Brown of the 6600 block of Stoney Point South, died Saturday, March 9, 1996, peacefully at his residence with his family by his side.

Mr. Brown was born in Greenville, N.C., and retired as a crane operator from the Norfolk Naval Public Works Center. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Senner Brown of the home; three daughters, Lydia ``Penny'' Brown of Norfolk and Cynthia and Terri Brown, both of Virginia Beach; three sons, James ``Avery'' Brown of Chesapeake, Steven of Norfolk and James Jr. of Delaware; four sisters, Margaret Taylor, Shirley Brown, Glorasteen Grice and Thelma Perkins, all of North Carolina; three brothers, Robert of Norfolk, Elisha and William of North Carolina; and six grandchildren, Jason and Justin, raised as sons, Jamar Walker, Javon, Rashonda and Kia.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Riddick Funeral Service by the Rev. Frank Guns. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and at other times at 6647 Stoney Point South.
