Rene Elizabeth Cline Sandwell, 24, of Chesapeake, died Friday, March 8, 1996. Rene and her husband, Doug were expecting their first child, a daughter, Jessica Grace Sandwell, delivered prematurely, who also died March 8, 1996. Jessica means ``God's Grace.'' Mrs. Sandwell was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship, Chesapeake; a graduate of Elim Bible Institute and a part of the Elim Ministries. Mrs. Sandwell was a volunteer at Norfolk Christian Lower School, where her husband is a member of the faculty.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Stacy and Connie Cline of Liama, N.Y.; a sister, Danielle Cline, also of Liama; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Carol Peters of Royal Oak, Mich.; paternal grandparents, Roger and Marion Cline of Appalachin, N.Y.; mother and father-in-law, Don and Mary Sandwell of Flamborough, Ontario, Canada; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Steven Hause of Hamilton, Ontario.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 1101 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Bobby Hill and the Rev. Paul Johansson officiating. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Rene Sandwell Memorial Fund for Children's Ministries, 1101 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
