Edward Charles Ellis, 68, died March 9, 1996, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Mr. Ellis was born in Manlius, N.Y., and was a communications employee of Scientific Atlanta. He was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge for his service in the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Ellis; two daughters, Cherie Middleton of Bloomington, Minn., and husband, Dick, and Kim Edwards of Chesapeake and husband, Charlie; two sons, Keith Edward Ellis of Tucson, Ariz., and Terry Ellis of Virginia Beach and wife, Vicki; a sister, Dolores Seikel, and a brother, Horace E. ``Howard'' Ellis, both of Riverside, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Lisa Middleton and Adam Edwards.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Kempsville Presbyterian Church, 805 Kempsville Road, by the Rev. Ken Barnes and the Rev. Paul Moore. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
