Dorothy Ellis Hamrick died March 11, 1996, in a Pensacola hospital after a long, lingering illness.
Mrs. Hamrick was born June 24, 1934, in Norfolk and attended schools in Norfolk and the Panama Canal Zone. She attended the University of Virginia School of Nursing and graduated from the Norfolk General School of Nursing.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Hamrick; her daughter, Kimberly Page Larcombe of Chesapeake; her mother, Mrs. Etta S. Ellis of Pensacola.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the All Faiths Chapel, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, with Chaplain Ronald Sturgis officiating. The family will receive calls at home, 5500 Navaho Drive, following the memorial service. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bayside Presbyterian Church, 1400 Ewell Road, Virginia Beach, with Reverends Richard Keever and Sterne Bolte officiating. Burial will be in the Princess Anne Memorial Park Cemetery, 1110 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is in charge of the arrangements in Virginia Beach. A visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
