LUTHER L. BRITT

Luther Lee Britt, of the 1300 block of Mariner Street, died March 9, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

A native of Southampton County, he was a retired self-employed logger and truck driver. He was predeceased by his parents, Luther Edward Britt and Daisy Bradshaw Britt. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Newsoms, Va., the Deacon Board, Home Missionary Society, Senior Choir, and was a former church treasurer.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn W. Britt; daughter, Annette B. Cutler of Chesapeake; a son, Henry Lee Britt of Franklin; three sisters, Louise B. Craig, Edna U. Britt and Josephine Speller, all of Philadelphia; and one stepsister, Annie W. Murphy of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

A funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Piney Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. George Futrell. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be today at Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Chapel from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
