Mary Willis Suiter Bowers, 99, of the 21000 block of Woods Trail, died March 8, 1996 in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
A native of Southampton County, she was a retired homemaker and the widow of James Arthur Bowers. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Burdette, and Senior Choir.
She is survived by three sons, William A. Bowers of Suffolk; Nathaniel Bowers of Detroit, Junuis L. Bowers of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church by the Rev. J.H. Hampton. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Remains will be placed in the church for viewing at 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Inc.
