Roger McLean, vice president for business and finance at Elizabeth City State University, has resigned ``to pursue other career opportunities,'' Interim Chancellor Mickey L. Burnim announced Monday.
McLean has been associated with ECSU for 21 years, Burnim said. ``The university certainly owes him a debt of gratitude and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.''
McLean's resignation is effective April 1.
A recent audit by the North Carolina State Auditor cited several shortcomings in the financial affairs at ECSU, one of the 16 member universities in the University of North Carolina system.
When the critical audit was released, UNC President C.D. Spangler Jr. told Burnim to overhaul the bookkeeping procedures at ECSU. by CNB
