Rose Williams Howell, 104, of Route 2, died Monday March 11, 1996, in Guardian Care Nursing Home, Ahoskie.
Mrs. Howell was born in Gates County. The daughter of the late Zachary Taylor and Mrs. Mary Eliza Holland Williams, she was a retired school teacher, postal clerk, and department store clerk. She was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Timothy Howell.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Faye Howell of Gates; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Stanley M. Howell.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reynoldson Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Presley. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home of Faye Howell. Memorial contributions may be made to Reynoldson Baptist Church.
